Gavin O'Sullivan

Gavin has freelanced as a producer, contractor, concert manager, and film music editor.

He was House Manager at the National Concert Hall, Dublin from 1998-2004 with responsibility for staff and event management as well as overseeing I.T. for the organisation. He also programmed and organized the Composer Choice contemporary music series. He worked at the National Concert Hall again from 2008 – 2011 and was responsible for NCH promotions including visiting Orchestras and Artists and produced various projects for the Hall.

Since 1995 Gavin has been Director of the Sundays at Noon Concert Series at Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane. This weekly series has run since 1976 and is recognised for its support and promotion of both contemporary Irish composers and performers.

He acted as orchestra manager of The Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra on its 50 concert US tour in 2009. Since 1996, he has served as orchestra contractor for Screen Training Ireland’s training modules in music scoring for film and television. Music editing credits include a series of films produced by Concorde Films.  Since 1996 he has been production manager for the annual Music Festival in Great Irish Houses and since 2007 has been Festival Director of the Camerata Ireland Clandeboye Festival. He is also manager of Resurgam, an independent professional choir.

He is a former board member of the Board of the Contemporary Music Centre and a project manager for New Music Dublin – a new music festival co-promoted by the NCH, RTE, CMC and the Arts Council.

He regularly works as project manager for Barry Douglas’ Camerata Ireland and as Executive Producer for Wide Open Opera whose recent projects include Tristan und Isolde at the 2012 Dublin Theatre Festival and Gerald Barry’s Importance of Being Earnest tour in 2013.

Future projects include producing the Irish premiere of John Adams’ Nixon in China at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in May 2014.
